Categories: Astronomy.

Time: 9:00pm-3:00am 26th)

Targets:  Whirlpool galaxy, Elephant's trunk nebula, Pinwheel nebula, Ring nebula, Saturn, Jupiter

Photo Caption: Sketch of Whirlpool galaxy through a 25mm eyepiece. No filter. Left and right inverted.

Early set up tonight since I wanted to collimate my telescope. Collimation was done fast and easy. Made quite a significant improvement in the viewing experience from my scope. Bands of Jupiter were so clear after collimation, details were amazing. Saw three moons of Saturn, including Titan, along with Saturn. Could not see Ele[hant's trunk nebula nor pinwheel even though I seemed to be looking in the right area. Found Whirlpool galaxy finally using Telrad finder. Went 4 degrees straight down from Alkaid. Revisited the Ring Nebula which was much more clear in the structure this time around(after collimation). Tried astro-sketching for the first time! Definitely something I want to keep on doing with each viewing.
